Abid Malik – Home Visiting Geriatrician and Primary Care Doctor in London – Profile and Clinical Excellence
Dr Abid Malik MBChB (Lpool), BSc (Imp), MSc (Oxon)
I am a Consultant Physician with a triple accreditation in Stroke, General Internal and Geriatric Medicine. I have a broad range of skills and see patients of all ages and any general medical condition. I have a particular interest in complexity and diagnostic dilemmas. My NHS work at a busy London teaching hospital focuses on all aspects of the patient journey including hyperacute, acute and rehabilitative medicine. I use a holistic and systematic approach to medical assessments based on the ‘comprehensive geriatric assessment’ taking into account the biological, psychological and social needs of the individual. I have an interest in evidence-based healthcare having completed my Master’s degree with distinction at Oxford University. I have published in multiple peer reviewed journals and have presented at several international stroke conferences.
I enjoy building a relationship with patients and take a shared decision-making approach to treatments with an emphasis on lifestyle, prevention and rehabilitation as well as acute medical interventions.
