Dr. Hakeem Lateef Doctor – Primary Care – Profile and Clinical Excellence
Hakeem Lateef graduated with his first degree in 1995 from Nigeria. He also did basic surgical training in Nigeria. After the Doctor came in UK, he obtained a Masters degree in International Health from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. Dr Lateef continued training in surgical specialities including orthopaedics and trauma, ENT, general surgery and urology in many hospitals including Withybush Hospital (Haverfordwest) and University Hospital in Cardiff, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and Peterborough and Stamford Hospital NHS Trust, all between 2006 and 2017.
The Doctor also had a stint in research degree (PhD) on part time basis in musculoskeletal science between 2006 and 2011. He obtained MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Afterwards, Dr Lateef decided to move into forensic medicine, working in various police formations including Merseyside, Cheshire, Durham, Cleveland and Wales between 2009 and 2016. He attended a diploma course in Forensic Medicine at Queen Mary university for almost a year in 2014.
After that, he decided to go for more challenges and moved to London to work in Urgent Care at St. Mary’s Hospital in London for about 8 months. Dr Lateef worked with other GPs in a GP-led practice and learnt few skills from specialist GP services. At the same period, he was working part-time in in-patient detox for drugs and alcohol at Cranstoun in London. Moreover, he worked part-time as a medical assessor at Litchfield military base. This involved basic medical assessment for new military recruits. He did this for two years between 2012 to 2014. He attended a diploma course in Occupational Medicine at University of Kent NHS Trust in 2018. I also assess candidates for D4 Drivers medicals in my spare time.
Presently, he has been working in community addiction service as a specialty doctor in addiction psychiatry for 7 months. He attended several certificate courses including online courses in drugs and alcohol addiction management. He is certified Advance Life Support giver and previously held an Advanced Trauma Life Support certificate.
His wide range of experience spanning over 24 years makes it possible to be able to work as a generalist who has a wide range of experience in many specialities. House visits can be booked 7 days a week.
