In my initial role as a nurse, I developed as an autonomous practitioner with a wide range of clinical skills under the guidance of more senior staff. By working with a wide range of professionals in a number of clinical settings I have developed excellent team work and communication skills. Campos Home Visiting Nurse

As I have developed as a nurse I have also been challenged to develop leadership and organizational skills coordinating the ward and supervising unqualified staff. I have learnt to adapt my practice to be sensitive to different cultural needs.

Throughout my career I find the work demanding but very rewarding, when working on the ward some of the patients were hospitalized for a long period of time and I developed good relationship with patient and family, I used to work closely with the family to implement a holistic plan of care that is best suited to the patient’s needs. Patients arrive from many other inpatient settings needing specialist care
and treatment. I have dealt with complex admissions and discharges to and from the ward, including repatriations to and from other countries.

I believe I’ve got good leadership skills, excellent time management and good inter-professional communication. I believe these qualities allow me to run a productive service. I have a good understanding of the skills needed to care for an acutely unwell adult, both with surgical and medical needs.

Once started working in community as a Rapid Response Nurse, I developed my holistic assessment of the acute unwell patients in community, learning how to work as a Lone Worker and being able to understand blood results and relate them to the pathologies.

In the last 3 years I developed multiple skills, I’m able to provide a high nursing care to patient in their home, preventing hospital admission and implementing management plans. Being part of a multidisciplinary team, I feel confident to undertake basic PT and OT assessments.

At my current role I continue developing all the skills mentioned previously but I have the opportunity to consolidate my leadership skills, on day to day activities, coordinating the day and allocation for the next day. As a Team Leader I act as a role model and inspiration to others, encourage best practice, I’m responsible for induction, training, appraisal, clinical supervision and monthly 1:1 meetings with staff,
review datix and completing monthly roster.

I pride myself in my work; I’m dedicated, committed and responsible. I am an organized employee, paying close attention to detail, I’m a quick learner and I perform tasks efficiently and precisely.
