Samuel Murray Registered Nurse – Profile and Clinical Excellence

Hello, I’m Samuel, an experienced registered nurse based in the vibrant London borough of Havering, Essex. With a passion for enhancing patient care, I have specialized in a broad range of nursing disciplines including district nursing, respiratory care, intensive care, and complex home care.

At Barts Health NHS Trust I worked in a respiratory unit and intensive care at St bathothomew’s hospital and then followed on to work in intensive care at the Royal London Hospital (the main trauma centre for north east london). where I supported patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, and managed post-operative care. My skills include administering oral and intravenous medications, cannulation, blood collection, analyzing blood gases, interpreting 12-lead ECGs, and providing post-surgical care and caring for covid patient. I then followed on to work in the recovery unit working with a variety of patients post-anesthesia from multiple surgeries, managing their recovery through fluid resuscitation, vital sign monitoring using an ABCDE approach, and administering intravenous drugs and wound care management. My role extended into the home care settings, I delivered intensive 1-1 support, managing medications and feeds via PEG,  tracheostomy care, performing deep suction, and providing comprehensive airway support. I closely monitor patients, adapting care plans to meet their evolving needs, ensuring their comfort and safety at home.

My holistic approach to care emphasized not only the physical but also the emotional and psychological well-being of my patients. Whether in a bustling hospital or a quiet home setting, I strived to create a supportive and nurturing environment.

Holding a degree in Adult Nursing from Greenwich University, I continuously sought further training to enhance my skills and knowledge in advanced nursing practices. I have been keen to bring my expertise and passion for patient care to new opportunities, where I can contribute to improving patient outcomes and the quality of care.
