Lynette Nyatanga Physiotherapist – Profile and Clinical Excellence

Lynette qualified in 2009 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy from Salford University. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as well as the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) and have been working as a senior physiotherapist for the past ten years.

Ms Nyatanga has worked in the NHS in England and Wales as well as in private practice, founding both really professionally rewarding and challenging.

Over the years, the Physiotherapist has gained experience in occupational health which includes ergonomic assessments, manual handling training, functional restoration and work hardening programmes, musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, respiratory, neurological rehabilitation, elderly care, telephone triage, admission prevention and community/home-based therapy.

Lynette has also worked closely with insurance companies for patients requiring physiotherapy assessment and treatment following injury or long-term illness. This gained her experience in biopsychosocial assessment and treatments including medico-legal report writing for insurance companies. Through these experiences, Lynette has worked in different areas in the country including working in the Channel Islands for over a year.

She has a particular interest in rehabilitation – elderly/long term/neurological conditions, fall prevention and rehabilitation. Hence, she constantly attends professional development (CPD) and training sessions/courses/conferences. As a result, she is good at thinking outside the box, problem solving, working with limited resources all while still providing a patient centred service. Also, she is particularly keen on collaborative working with my patient and believe that education, guidance and support is the best tool you can give a patient on how best to manage their condition/symptoms long and short term. She is a good communicator and find this helps with connecting with my patients therefore enabling an effective working relationship.
