Home Visiting Speech Therapists

Medelit’s home visiting speech and language therapists work closely with both adults and children who have various levels of speech and communication problems, and with those who have swallowing, drinking or eating difficulties.

Speech therapists often work with people with physical and learning disabilities, hearing loss/deafness, psychiatric disorders, dementia or neurological diseases.

Therapists will normally first of all assess the patient’s needs and then develop an individual treatment plan aiming to improve the person’s communication skills as much as possible.

Speech therapists normally work within a multidisciplinary team and together with the people that have a close relationship with the patient, such as family members, carers or teachers.
