Why Book a Nurse for Your Injection at Home?

The situations people describe when they ask for a nurse to give an injection at home, in their own words.

My fertility clinic has given me an injection schedule

Stimulation, trigger and progesterone injections follow the times in your clinic’s plan. A nurse can give them at home or in your hotel, with your clinic’s prescription or letter in English.

I need my testosterone injection every few weeks

A long-term hormone injection on a repeat schedule, given at home, so each dose does not mean another trip to a clinic.

I have to finish a course of antibiotic injections

A daily intramuscular course after a hospital stay or a doctor’s visit, given at home by a nurse instead of a daily journey to a surgery.

I can’t inject myself, and nobody at home can

Whether it is a fear of needles or no one to help, a nurse gives your prescribed injection and checks how you feel afterwards.

I’m visiting London in the middle of my treatment

Staying in a hotel during a course of injections? A nurse can come to you, as long as your prescription or referral letter is in English.

My consultant prescribed a long-acting injection

Depot, allergy and other specialist injections your consultant has prescribed, given at home at the interval they set.

I was sent home with blood-thinner injections

A course of prescribed anticoagulant injections, given at home by a nurse when you would rather not do it yourself.

The service is impeccable...i was provided with an acupuncturist covering my area immediately and the practitioner was very professional and gave a medical report after each session. Also an invoice was provided which was acceptable by my insurance AXA PPP...

A very professional medical group. Responded immediately to my mums caring needs. We were desperate for a home visit and they answered promptly and allocated a very thorough doctor for us. Doctor made mum very relaxed because mum is usually a very nervous patient. I will recommend others to use them. Very satisfied with their services. Way to go Medelit. Well done!

Yes. You need a valid prescription or referral letter from your doctor, in English, dated within the last six months, on letterhead, signed by a registered doctor and stating the medicine, dose and route. Upload it with your booking request: it is checked first, and the booking goes ahead only if it is suitable. Pharmacy dispensing slips, screenshots of a treatment plan and documents in other languages are not accepted.

No. Medelit does not supply medicines: the injection your doctor has prescribed needs to be in your home or hotel room, ready when the nurse arrives.

An injection visit at home starts from £75. Enter your address to see the fee for it before you book; you pay online only after accepting the time the nurse proposes, with no membership or subscription.

Visits are prompt, according to availability at your address, and nursing visits are generally arranged within two to three days. For an injection at a fixed time, book as soon as you have your prescription and medicine.

Yes. Prescribed fertility injections, such as stimulation, trigger or progesterone injections, can be given at home or in your hotel. Send your clinic’s prescription or letter in English with the booking and give the times in your treatment plan; for fixed-time doses, book early, as visits depend on availability.

Yes, when they are prescribed for you. Long-term injections such as testosterone can be booked as repeat home visits, following the schedule your doctor sets.

Your prescriber decides; many intramuscular courses are given once a day for several days, with a nurse visiting each day. Put the dose, route and number of days in your booking so the visits match the prescription. Antibiotic drips are given through our home IV therapy service.

Yes, both, when the injection is prescribed: intramuscular injections such as antibiotics, depot or hormone injections, and subcutaneous injections such as fertility or blood-thinning medicines. Your prescription or letter should state the route.

Yes, if your doctor has prescribed vitamin B12 or another vitamin injection: a nurse can give it at home or in your hotel, once or as a course. Medelit does not sell or supply vitamins, so the prescribed medicine needs to be ready for the visit.

Yes. If you cannot or would rather not inject yourself, a nurse gives your prescribed injection and checks how you feel afterwards. You can mention your worries in the booking request.

Most injections are not painful. Some people feel sore where the needle went in for the first day, and this normally fades within two days.

Yes, the nurse can come to your hotel. The same rules apply as at home: a prescription or referral letter in English that meets the requirements above, and the medicine ready in your room. Documents in other languages are not accepted. Enter the hotel’s postcode to check availability.

Yes. You can book a single injection or a series of visits for a course, such as daily antibiotics or a hormone injection every few weeks.

Some injections are given by NHS practice or district nurses after a referral from your GP or hospital, and waits differ by area. Medelit is private: you request the visit yourself and pay when you accept the time offered.

If home nursing is included in your policy, pay the fee and send the invoice to your insurer to be refunded. Check with your insurer what your policy includes before booking.

The nurse gives injections that have been prescribed for you: they do not prescribe, supply or sell medicines, and cannot change the dose. Drips are given through our home IV therapy service.
