Dr. Kruger initially established his private practice in Benoni and Johannesburg, South Africa, where he worked from 1987 to 1998. During this period, he provided psychological care to a broad client base, honing his expertise in psychotherapy and mental health interventions. In 1998, he relocated to England, taking up a role as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist within the National Health Service (NHS) in Guildford. This position allowed him to deepen his understanding of public mental health services and contribute to patient care within a multidisciplinary team. He continued in this role until 2007.

From 2007 to 2012, Dr. Kruger expanded his private practice in the UK, offering his services at renowned facilities such as the Priory and Nuffield Hospitals in Surrey. He also practiced in London’s prestigious Harley Street, catering to clients requiring specialized and high-quality psychological care. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kruger took on academic responsibilities, lecturing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for postgraduate medical students specializing in Psychiatry at St. George’s Hospital, London. Dr. Kruger’s commitment to ongoing professional development led him to pursue further specialized training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre in England and the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy in Philadelphia, USA. These opportunities enriched his skills and affirmed his position as an expert in CBT.

In 2012, Dr. Kruger returned to South Africa, taking on the role of Clinical Lead for Psychological Services at Worcester Hospital. Here, he oversees psychological care delivery and supports service development to meet diverse patient needs. Alongside this role, he continues to shape the future of Clinical Psychology as a part-time supervisor for final-year Master’s degree students at Stellenbosch University.
Currently, Dr. Kruger operates private practices in Somerset West and Oude Westhof, Bellville, Cape Town.
