Our psychologists provide expert psychological therapy and counselling by secure video call — giving you access to BPS-chartered, HCPC-registered psychologists from the comfort and privacy of your own home, anywhere in the UK.
Assessment & Personalised Plan
Your first online appointment lasts approximately 60 minutes and is primarily an information-gathering session on you and your history. Together with your psychologist, you then agree how many sessions you need and how often, with follow-up sessions generally lasting 45–60 minutes.

You do it all on medelit.com: look through the psychologists currently taking online patients, weigh up their background, approach and fee on their profile, then send a request with your preferred time — your psychologist confirms a time that matches their availability. There is nothing to join or sign up for first, and sessions run right across the year, evenings and weekends included.
Pricing is set individually by each psychologist and displayed openly on their profile, so cost is one of the things you can weigh up alongside their background before you book. Payment covers the session itself, taken at the point you reserve your appointment.
Self-referral is entirely normal here — you do not need a GP’s say-so to get started, and can go straight ahead and book. That said, if a referral letter already exists from a previous consultation, passing it along gives your psychologist useful context before your first session.
A camera, audio and a reasonably stable internet connection will do the job. There is no app or software to download beforehand; the session runs straight from your browser.
It depends on your policy — a good number of private health insurers do include psychology and counselling, but the details differ from one provider to the next, so it is worth a quick check with them beforehand. Whatever they need, Medelit can issue an invoice for your session to support a claim.
