I have gathered over 6 years of experience in clinical placement, including over one year as an independent speech and language therapist. I have worked in acute inpatient/ outpatient wards community, for adults with neurological disorders, learning disabilities, eating drinking and swallowing disorders, and voice disorders. My experience in paediatric speech therapy had been gathered through clinic, community and schools, where I have worked with children with a range of speech sounds disorders, social language disorders i.e., developmental language disorders, autism, children with eating, drinking and swallowing disorders and children with mild to severe learning disabilities. I enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently, and understand the importance of taking a holistic, person-centred approach to providing the best care possible to my clients. I worked hard to enhance my reflective abilities while at university, as well as in my current position. I believe in lifelong learning and am constantly looking for new ways to learn and grow. I perceive challenges as a learning experience that will enable me develop and improve my clinical skills.
