Assessment and first treatment
The doctor takes a full history, explains the plan and performs the first session in the same visit. Later sessions are agreed with the same doctor, singly or as a package.
Coverage follows the doctor-acupuncturists on the roster and grows with it; whether one reaches the street you are staying on, and when, is answered by the address check rather than by a map.

Why Book Through Medelit
In Italy only medical doctors with specific postgraduate training may practise acupuncture. Yes, all of them. Italian law reserves acupuncture to medical doctors with specific training, and Medelit adds its own checks: medical registration, insurance, a recognised acupuncture diploma, references, and an interview in English with our medical directors.

The doctor asks about the problem that brings you, your general health, sleep, digestion and mood, examines you, and sets out a treatment plan. The first needling session takes place in the same visit, so come with the time to lie still for a while afterwards.
The needles are hair-thin and sterile; most people feel a brief prick or a dull ache at the point, then nothing. Many fall asleep during the session. Tell the doctor if you are needle-averse: fewer points and gentler techniques are possible.
It depends on the condition: an acute problem may settle in two or three sessions, a chronic one usually needs a course. The doctor gives you a realistic estimate at the first visit and reviews it as you respond; a package makes a course more economical.
In the hands of a doctor-acupuncturist, yes: it is widely used for nausea, back and pelvic pain and sciatica in pregnancy, avoiding the points that are contraindicated. Tell the doctor how many weeks you are, and keep your obstetric care with your midwife or obstetrician.
Acupuncture is used alongside assisted reproduction to support the cycle and manage stress. Our doctors coordinate with the timing of your IVF clinic’s protocol; acupuncture accompanies the treatment, it does not replace it.

Yes. Sessions can be scheduled closer together for a short stay, and the doctor writes a treatment summary in English so an acupuncturist at home can continue the course. Hotels and short-term rentals are ordinary addresses for us.
